The Haymaker’s Punch

In the day and into the evening lit by the harvest moon, men and women of the land would slake their thirst with cider from their farm on the Welsh Marches.  But in puritan America farmers would reach for a switchel (aka haymaker’s punch) a refreshing alcohol-free drink.

The ACV quenches thirst and its antimicrobial properties killed off the nasties (such as E-coli) in the water.  The ginger settles the stomach and a touch of honey for sweetness gives you a perfectly balanced adult drink.

Perfect as a classy mocktail for SoberOctober… and not at all fighty like scrumpy.
