Apple and Pear Crumble
Following along from ideas on how to use your apple windfalls (if you have them). If not a bit of scrumping maybe in order! The added apple cider vinegar gives a lovely sharp tang!
Ingredients
6 large apples or pears, or both, or any foraged fruit combo
1 tablespoon of Jones apple cider vinegar
2 table spoons of water
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
1 pinch of sea salt
Method
Chop up the fruit
Combine all ingredients in pan and put on hob for 5 mins or until fruit has softened
Topping
½ cup of ground almonds
1/3 cup plain flour
½ cup whole oats
1/3 cup of walnuts or mixed nuts chopped
1/3 cup of brown sugar
1/3 cup of melted coconut oil or butter
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
¼ spoon of sea salt
Method
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well
Find a dish and put in the stewed fruit
Top with the topping and put in the oven for 20 mins at approx. 200c
Serve warm with clotted cream, ice-cream, custard, crème fresh or Greek yogurt. YUM!
